Maintenance of results requires periodic repeat treatments after the initial regimen is completed.
There are virtually no side effects and it gives the skin an overall fresh, healthy-looking glow. Microdermabrasion is effective for all skin colors and types and normal activities can be resumed immediately. Please avoid any type of Retina A product 2 days before and after treatment.
Microdermabrasion is used to remove sun-damaged skin and to remove or lessen scars and dark spots on the skin. The procedure is not very painful and requires no anesthetic. Microdermabrasion can be used medically for scar removal when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin but is less effective with sunken scars.
Microdermabrasion can also be used for the treatment of acne but must be repeated periodically to be effective. Microdermabrasion should not be used on patients who have taken the medication Accutane (Isotretinoin) in the previous twelve months.
